We Provide Full & Specific Solutions For Our Every Customers

The sole purpose of any kitchen sink is not just its use or usefulness. It should also fit or match with the kitchen surroundings or other furniture used in the kitchen.

Stainless Steel Kitchen Sinks for Indian Homes

An SS kitchen sink is a sink made from stainless steel, an alloy of iron, chromium and nickel that does not rust or stain in daily use. Eureka Sinks makes stainless steel kitchen sinks from 304 grade steel at our factory in Morbi, Gujarat, in single bowl, big and small bowl, step bowl and multi-function designs.

Each model is sized for the way India cooks. Kadais, pressure cookers and large tawas go into the sink every day, so our bowls run 8 to 10 inches deep and our overall sizes go from 18 x 16 inches for a compact kitchen up to 34 x 20 inches for a joint family.

Browse the series below, check the size guide, or download the SS sink and quartz sink catalogue to see every model in one place.

Why Stainless Steel Kitchen Sinks Work Best in Indian Kitchens

Stainless steel kitchen sinks take heat, weight and hard water better than most other sink materials, and they cost less than stone. That is why most Indian homes, hotels and canteens still choose steel.

  • Takes heat: You can pour boiling pasta water or tip out a hot kadai without cracking or marking the bowl.
  • Does not chip: A heavy pressure cooker or iron tawa dropped into the bowl will not chip it the way it can chip ceramic.
  • Stands up to hard water: 304 grade steel holds its surface against the salts in borewell and municipal water found across Gujarat, Rajasthan and much of North India.
  • Easy to keep clean: The surface is non-porous, so turmeric, oil and masala wash off with a normal dishwash liquid and a soft scrub.
  • Fits any platform: Steel sinks sit well on granite, marble, Kota stone and quartz platforms, and in modular or site-built kitchens.
  • Fully recyclable: Stainless steel can be melted down and reused at the end of its life.

If you want a coloured, stone-look sink for an open kitchen instead, see our quartz kitchen sinks.

Why Every Eureka SS Kitchen Sink Uses 304 Grade Steel

Every stainless steel kitchen sink in the Eureka range is made from 304 grade steel. This grade carries about 18% chromium and 8% nickel, which is what keeps a sink free of rust spots after years of daily washing.

Many low-priced sinks in the market use 202 grade, which cuts nickel down and adds manganese to save cost. It looks the same on the shop floor, but the difference shows up within a year or two in homes with hard water.

Point of comparison 304 grade (used by Eureka) 202 grade
Chromium About 18% About 17%
Nickel About 8% About 4 to 6%
Manganese Up to 2% About 7 to 10%
Rust and pitting in hard water Resists well Brown spots can appear over time
Reaction to salt, tamarind and pickle Holds its surface Can stain if left sitting
Life in a daily-use kitchen Many years Shorter
Price Higher Lower

The Bureau of Indian Standards sets the specification for stainless steel sinks for domestic use under IS 13983. When you buy any SS kitchen sink, ask the seller to state the steel grade and thickness in writing.

UR1 Series: Single Bowl SS Sinks for Everyday Use

The UR1 Series is our most practical single bowl range. The 24 x 18 model suits most 2BHK kitchens, and the 32 x 18 model gives a long bowl that fits a full parat or a large baking tray. Every UR1 sink comes in 304 grade steel with a honeycomb finish and optional chopping board, roll mat and corner basket.

Multi Function Sink Series: A Full Workstation in One Sink

The Multi Function Sink Series turns the sink into a prep station. The 30 x 18 model works with a chopping board, steel basket, soap dispenser, glass washer, waterfall faucet and RO faucet, so you can wash, chop and drain in one spot.

Box Series: Single Bowl with a Step

The Box Series has a 90 mm step along the bowl that holds a chopping board or basket above the water. The 28 x 18 size with a 10 inch deep bowl takes large cookers and kadais with room to spare.

Play Station Series: Big and Small Bowl

The Play Station Series splits a 34 x 20 sink into one large bowl and one smaller bowl. Soak utensils in the big bowl while you rinse vegetables or fruit in the small one. A utensil stand is part of the accessory set.

Plus Series: Mirror Finish SS Sinks

The Plus Series gives a bright mirror finish in four sizes from 18 x 16 to 24 x 18 inches. It suits compact kitchens, utility areas and projects where a classic polished steel look is wanted.

Digital Piano, Aqua and Vivanta Series

These series add more designs to the range for buyers who want a different bowl shape or look. Open the Digital Piano Series, Aqua Series and Vivanta Series pages to compare sizes, bowl layouts and finishes.

How to Choose the Right Stainless Steel Kitchen Sink

Choose a kitchen sink in five steps: measure the base cabinet, pick a bowl layout, set the bowl depth, choose a finish and confirm how it will be fitted. Getting these right before you buy saves a costly platform re-cut later.

1. Measure the Base Cabinet and Platform

Measure the inside width of the cabinet under the sink. Keep the overall width of the sink about 3 inches less than that, so the plumber has room for the waste coupling and pipes. Check the platform depth too, since most Indian platforms are 24 inches deep and an 18 or 20 inch wide sink fits them well.

2. Pick a Bowl Layout

  • Single bowl: Best for compact and modular kitchens. It gives the widest open space for large vessels. See the UR1 Series and Plus Series.
  • Single bowl with step: A raised ledge holds a board or basket above the water. See the Box Series.
  • Big and small bowl: One side for soaking, one for rinsing, handy when you cook two or three meals a day. See the Play Station Series.
  • Workstation: Accessories slide over the bowl so you can chop, wash and drain in one place. See the Multi Function Sink Series.

3. Set the Bowl Depth

An 8 inch bowl is enough for a small household. Go for 9 or 10 inches if you wash pressure cookers, big kadais or dekchis every day, because a deeper bowl holds them fully and keeps splashes off the platform.

4. Choose a Finish

  • Honeycomb finish: A textured pattern that hides fine scratches and water marks. Available in black and satin.
  • Satin or matt finish: A soft brushed look that is easy to maintain.
  • Mirror finish: The classic bright, polished steel look. Wipe it dry after use to keep water spots away.

5. Confirm the Fitting Type

Most Indian kitchens with granite or quartz platforms use a top-mount (inset) fitting, where the rim of the sink rests on the platform. Decide on a platform-mounted or wall-mounted tap at the same time, so the cut-out and plumbing are planned together.

How to Clean and Care for a Stainless Steel Kitchen Sink

A 304 grade stainless steel sink needs only a rinse, a wipe and a weekly wash to stay bright for years. Follow these habits:

  1. Rinse the bowl after each use and wipe it dry with a cotton cloth to stop hard water marks.
  2. Wash it once a week with dishwash liquid and a soft sponge, moving along the grain or pattern of the steel.
  3. For white hard water spots, rub a paste of baking soda and water, or wipe with diluted vinegar, then rinse well.
  4. Do not leave wet iron tawas, cast iron pans or steel wool in the bowl. Loose iron particles can leave brown marks that look like rust.
  5. Do not let salt, pickle, tamarind or lemon sit in the sink for hours. Rinse them away soon after use.
  6. Keep bleach and acid-based toilet or tile cleaners away from the sink, as they can dull and pit the surface.
  7. Place a rubber sink mat in the bowl under heavy vessels to cut down on fine scratches.

Frequently Asked Questions About SS Kitchen Sinks

What is an SS kitchen sink?

An SS kitchen sink is a kitchen sink made from stainless steel, a mix of iron, chromium and nickel. The chromium forms a thin layer on the surface that stops rust, which is why steel sinks last for years in daily use.

Which grade of stainless steel is best for a kitchen sink?

304 grade is the best choice for a kitchen sink in India. It has about 18% chromium and 8% nickel, so it resists rust and hard water stains far better than 202 grade. Every Eureka SS kitchen sink uses 304 grade steel.

What is the standard kitchen sink size in India?

The most common size is 24 x 18 inches with a 9 to 10 inch deep bowl. It suits a standard 2BHK kitchen and a family of three to five. Smaller homes use 18 x 16 or 21 x 18, and large families go up to 32 x 18 or 34 x 20.

Which is better, a single bowl or a double bowl kitchen sink?

A single bowl gives more room for large kadais, cookers and trays, so it suits most compact and modular kitchens. A big and small bowl sink lets you soak utensils on one side and rinse vegetables on the other, which helps families that cook several meals a day.

What is a honeycomb finish kitchen sink?

A honeycomb finish sink has a raised hexagon pattern pressed into the steel surface. The pattern hides fine scratches and water marks, so the sink keeps a neat look with daily use. Eureka offers honeycomb finishes in black and satin.

Do stainless steel kitchen sinks rust?

A 304 grade stainless steel sink does not rust in normal kitchen use. Brown spots usually come from wet iron tawas, steel wool or cast iron pans left in the bowl, and they wipe off with a baking soda paste.

How deep should a kitchen sink be?

For Indian kitchens, a bowl depth of 9 to 10 inches works best. It holds pressure cookers and large vessels fully and keeps water from splashing onto the platform. An 8 inch bowl is fine for small households.

What is a multi-function kitchen sink?

A multi-function kitchen sink is a workstation sink that comes with accessories such as a chopping board, drain basket, soap dispenser and glass washer. You can chop, wash and drain in one place, which saves platform space. See the Eureka Multi Function Sink Series.

Is a stainless steel sink better than a quartz sink?

A stainless steel sink costs less, handles heavy vessels without chipping and is simple to maintain. A quartz sink offers colour options and a stone look that matches modern platforms. Compare both in our quartz sink range.

How can I check if a kitchen sink is 304 grade?

Ask the seller for the steel grade in writing on the bill or product label. A magnet test is not reliable, because both 304 and 202 grades are mostly non-magnetic. A buyer can also get a grade test done at a metal testing lab.

How do I clean a stainless steel kitchen sink?

Rinse and wipe it dry after each use, and wash it once a week with dishwash liquid and a soft sponge. Use a baking soda paste or diluted vinegar for hard water spots, and avoid steel wool, bleach and acid cleaners.
